2015's Star Wars: The Force Awakens was not only one of the best-selling flicks of all time, it was also one of the most progressive. Name another blockbuster action film whose leads including an African-American man and a woman. You probably can't, and that's a shame...but at least we have one of the world's biggest franchises showing everyone the light!

Apparently The Force Awakens director J.J. Abrams says that the franchise is just getting started, and promises gay characters in the series' future.

He told the Daily Beast:

"Of course! When I talk about inclusivity it’s not excluding gay characters. It’s about inclusivity. So of course.”
