The 15-year mark is as good a time as any to remake a beloved movie into a TV show, yeah? CBS thinks so, as the network's ordered a Training Day pilot.

Entertainment Weekly writes that the modern day "reimagining" will feature "a notable role reversal: This time the idealistic young officer is black, and his veteran, morally ambiguous partner is white." The 2001 movie got Denzel Washington an Oscar for Best Actor and Ethan Hawke a nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

Antoine Fuqua, who directed Training Day as well as Shooter, Southpaw and King Arthur, will helm the pilot; the script comes from Will Beall, a onetime LAPD detective who wrote Gangster Squad. Jerry Bruckheimer is among the producers.
