Last Friday (Feb. 26), Fifth Harmony returned with a special guest: “Work From Home,” the girl group’s latest single, features a verse from Ty Dolla $ign, who drops in to deliver some double entendres on the track. In an email interview, Ty says that he had a blast working on the collaboration, which came together partially because someone special in his life is a big 5H fan.

“My daughter loves them and she put me on to their first album,” says the rapper/singer, who is the father of 10-year-old Jailynn. “It's cool to do a song that might be played in my daughter’s playlist.”

“Work From Home” received a beguiling music video shot on a construction site, and while Ty stopped by for the shoot, the scene caused him a minor headache. “It was dusty, and I messed up my brand new Timberlands,” he says.

Fifth Harmony delivered the debut performance of “Work From Home” sans Dolla $ign on Live with Kelly and Michael on Monday (Feb. 29). Fans of “Work From Home” can expect a lot more live performances of the new hit—including some with its featured artist on hand.

“The girls are beautiful and lots of fun,” he says. “Looking forward to rocking some huge stages with them on this one!”
