Today in mix-and-matches you just didn't have the imagination to predict, Florence + The Machine has covered Ben E. King's "Stand by Me" for Final Fantasy XV. The cover starts at 1:10 in the trailer above.

Here's what Florence Welch had to say in a making-of video:

“I’ve always seen Final Fantasy as like mythical and beautiful and epic. ... ‘Stand by Me’ is one of the greatest songs probably of all time, and you can’t really improve on it, you just have to do your own. It was just about bringing ut into the world of Florence + The Machine and the world of Final Fantasy.”

FF XV is due Sept. 30. and will be accompanied by an anime miniseries, Brotherhood, and a full-length CGI movie titled Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV. Voice acting in the latter comes from Game of Thrones actors Lena Headey and Sean Bean, plus Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul.
