On Monday, the gossip-chompers at Page Six reported that Foo Fighters were careening toward a hiatus. “The band is billing it as a ‘break,’ but it’s totally Dave [Grohl] going solo, and Taylor [Hawkins, drummer] is pissed about it,” a source said.

The rumor came after Dave Grohl performed by his lonesome at the Oscars on Sunday night, playing The Beatles' "Blackbird" as background for the In Memoriam montage.

Now a representative tells Entertainment Weekly the report is "utterly ridiculous." The rep declined to comment about Grohl's solo plans, however.

In a note accompanying the free Saint Cecilia EP in November, Dave Grohl said, “Maybe these songs are the bread crumbs that will help us find our way back when it’s time. We could use a nice wander through the woods right about now."
