Gwen Stefani said earlier this month that while recording her newest record, she had to transcend the physical world by "literally channeling God," to bring the project to a finish. Stefani's prayers were answered, though: Billboard reports that This Is What the Truth Feels Like, the singer's third full-length solo album, debuted at the no. 1 spot for the week ending March 24. 

According to Nielsen, the album moved 84,000 equivalent album units and sold 76,000 copies in pure album sales. This is good news for Stefani, whose recent divorce from rocker Gavin Rossdale provided much inspiration for many songs on the album. 

The former No Doubt songstress has never enjoyed the no. 1 spot for any of her solo-records. In an exclusive interview with Fuse, Stefani's producer, J.R. Rotem, described the process of recording Truth as a "form of therapy for her."
