Katy Perry has always been one to dress for the occasion—transforming herself into a giant flower for her Prismatic World Tour, a high school nerd for the "T.G.I.F." video and basically every type of confection for her Teenage Dream era. But Katy's other couture playground is a good political rally.

Instead of busting out some designer duds for the Hillary Victory Fund: I'm With Her concert in New York City on Wednesday night, she went for the DIY approach. Katy took Sharpie to cotton when she showed up to the event (with rumored boyfriend Orlando Bloom) in a homemade T-shirt that read "Hillary Clinton Is a Badass." Hmmm. Badass, indeed.

While Katy may have made the shirt herself 20 minutes before the show, she also might've thrifted the rest of her outfit. Stars and stripes were sewn onto her light-wash bell-bottoms, and the red belt and navy kerchief look like they're straight out of a St. Vincent's.

The hippie-punk look, of course, differs vastly from the sparkly, tight-fitting political garb she's donned in the past. Let's not forget the dresses she's worn at events for Barack Obama during his two runs for the Presidency:
