Lee Hi Makes Long-Awaited Comeback With 'Breathe' & 'Hold My Hand' Videos
In 2013, Lee Hi was one of K-pop's breakout sensations with her debut album First Love boasting three No. 1 hits: the brass-pop confections "1, 2, 3, 4" and "It's Over," along with the melancholy mid-tempo track "Rose." For her first release in three years, Seoulite, the 19-year-old focuses on her strengths for her new singles, but also showcases new maturity in other album tracks.
"Breathe" is the first single from Seoulite, and it displays the star's impassioned vocal technique on a ballad that should be an instant reminder to listeners who initially fell in love with Lee Hi. "Breathe" is nicely paired with a simple music video featuring the singer in the cityscapes of Seoul as the sun sets, creating gorgeous colors and moods to accompany the tender track.
Album track "Hold Your Hand" also gets a new music video, which plays more to the side we saw from Lee Hi back in 2013. With a funk-pop beat that would make Meghan Trainor smile, the cut is a little more breezy than past Lee Hi tracks but just as feel-good. It's accompanied by a fun visual of Lee Hi and her adorable outfits interspersed in a Gameboy-inspired world of 8bit cartoons. Watch below:
