Animal activists have created a Care2 petition which asks Mariah Carey not to include exotic animals, including live elephants and tigers, in her upcoming wedding to James Packer.

Over 79,000 signatures have been collected for the petition, which stands against recent comments about Carey having a circus-themed wedding ceremony on Barbuda Island. “She wants carnival rides and a giant circus with baby elephants, white tigers, jugglers, acrobats and clowns,” a friend of Carey’s reportedly told Women’s Day Australia.

The petition reads:

“Elephants and white tigers are decimated species and should be left alone and not used anymore as circus animals. Does she realize how traumatizing it will be for these baby elephants to be separated from their mothers and be shipped on a boat to her dream wedding?”

The goal of the petition is 80,000, which should be reached in no time. Carey has yet to respond to the plea to reconsider her wedding theme.
