Andrew W.K. is the epitome of the term "multi-hyphenate." King of partying; indefatigable rocker; newspaper columnist; producer; motivational speaker; game-for-anything interviewee; TV host; Santos Party House proprietor; Longest Drum Session in a Retail Store world-record-breaker—he is all these and multitudes more.
And now he's a politician, founding the Party Party in a time of great political insanity. "The two-party political system is broken," he laments in the PSA above, going on to say:
"It's created an 'us versus them' mentality and that's kept us from reaching our highest potential. And what's frightening is that it's blinded us to the fact that underneath it all, we want the same things. That's why I'm asking for your support to establish a new political party, not one based on the rhetoric and dogma of the democratic party or the republican party, but one that transcends both."
W.K.'s video ends with a call to action, asking for supporters to help amass enough signatures for the party to be legitimized by the U.S. Secretary of State. By the time of this post, it's already been accomplished.
Literally nothing about the clip is jokey except for the party's title, which itself is almost too perfect to be funny. On Twitter, W.K. shared this amazing slogan:
The party that parties together, parties forever. pic.twitter.com/B2IOHufjdm— ANDREW W.K. (@AndrewWK) April 1, 2016
