Chris Brown has been the artist everyone loves to hate since his domestic abuse charges against Rihanna in 2009, and now he is coming forth to try righting his wrongs once again. In a new trailer for Breezy's Welcome to My Life documentary, the singer looks back at the situations from his troubled past that made the media turn against him.
From the infamous Rihanna incident to drug addiction to throwing at chair at a window during his visit to Good Morning America in 2011, Brown is now exposing his inner demons in front of the public. He states in the trailer,
"Like, real life rockstars. It was like a fairy tale. I went from being on top of the world. Number one songs, being kind of like America’s sweetheart, to being public enemy number one.”
The singer began to choke up as he discussed the various assault charges: “I felt like a fucking monster. I was thinking about suicide and everything else. I wasn’t sleeping. I wasn’t eating. I was just getting high.” Fellow artists like Jamie Foxx, Usher, Jennifer Lopez and Mary J. Blige also make appearances in the trailer as they comment on Brown's impact on music.
No word on when the Andrew Sandler–directed Welcome to My Life documentary will be released, but in the meantime watch a video from the Fuse vault of Chris Brown talking about his future as a film director:
