Cyndi Lauper Gives LGBTQ Groups Proceeds From N.C. Concert
Unlike artists who have canceled concert appearances in protest of North Carolina’s House Bill 2, which prohibits transgender individuals from using the bathroom of their choice, Cyndi Lauper is taking a different stance at her North Carolina concert.
Similarly to Against Me!’s Laura Jane Grace, Lauper is using her concert as an opportunity to benefit LGBTQ rights organizations in North Carolina. “I think the best way I can do my part is to turn my show in Raleigh on June 4th into an entire day to build public support to repeal HB2,” she said in a statement on her website.
