Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon introduced presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders at a rally in Vernon’s hometown of Eau Claire, Wisconsin. He opened with:
"Hi, everybody. I'm very honored to be here today. We have an immense freedom in this nation, and with that freedom comes the greatest responsibility known to the people on this planet. That's why I'm here to introduce Senator Sanders.”
Vernon is one of the many musicians who have publicly endorsed Sanders as the Democratic presidential nominee. Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koenig and the Dirty Projectors’ Dave Longstreth performed at Sander’s Iowa rally. Rapper Killer Mike has been very vocal about his support of the Vermont senator.
