The MTV Movie Awards are this Sunday (April 10), and we're getting pumped. The fine folk over there have announced that Melissa McCarthy (Bridesmaids, The Heat, The Boss) will take home the coveted comedic genius award at the star-studded event.

It's cause for real celebration because, well, it means she's the first female comedian to ever score the title.

Kevin Hart, who is co-hosting this year's award show alongside Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, took home the title in 2015. Two year's prior, Will Ferrell was gifted the honor. It's about time a woman was recognized!
