While being one of the fiercest popstars in the world, Rihanna is also a kind-hearted person who has maintained a relatable friendship with her fans for years. Her latest display of compassion is helping one of her gay fans come out to his friends and family.

The fan, who didn't share his name, reached out to the artist through private Twitter messages for advice on how to deal with his sexuality and overcoming his fear of being outed as a gay black man. Being the sweet woman that she is, Rihanna responded:

“Baby it’s okay to be scared but it’s more important to be who you are. You don’t have a choice really! That’s not a decision to be made! You are who you are and as hard as it may seem, the best sh*t ever is freedom and peace within yourself! Your family may not understand, but luckily you live in a generation that does. And not to mention the community among us, we will hold you down boo!”

The fan has since talked about his sexuality with a close friend, and his conversation with Rihanna inspired another fan to come out to her mom:
