Alicia Keys' gorgeous "In Common" single now has an equally striking video, released Friday (May 20). The singer looks fresh-faced in the black-and-white clip inspired by the “electric energy” of New York City.

The romantic song is brought to life with Keys standing on a fire escape, as she overlooks various dancers and couples unabashedly displaying all modes of affection and happiness. The singer explained the video's meaning to the FADER:

“This video is about celebrating our individuality, and how in the brilliance of our uniqueness, the magic of it all is at the core, we are all the same. We want the same things. We all want to experience love, the freedom to be our truest selves, to love whomever we want and to be accepted and celebrated for all of our nuances and so called imperfections that make us, us.”

"In Common," along with "Hallelujah" (she recently performed both on Saturday Night Live), will be found on Keys' forthcoming sixth album.
