Assassin's Creed, one of the biggest action-adventure video game series, is being transformed into a Hollywood film, and Jimmy Kimmel got his hands on the first trailer! Premiering on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night (May 11), the intense clip appears to stay true to the game.
It stars Michael Fassbender as Callum Lynch (a character solely created for the movie) as an assassin (duh) who discovers his ancestor is Aguilar, a 15th century Spanish assassin. Set to Kanye West's Yeezus cut "I Am A God," the trailer finds Fassbender masterfully slaying his medieval enemies in the most badass way.
Assassin's Creed also stars Marion Cotillard as Sophia Rikkin, Jeremy Irons (the CEO of Abstergo), Brendan Gleeson (Callum's father) and Michael K. Williams as a fellow Assassin (but, sadly, not Omar Little).
Look out for the film, directed by Justin Kurzel (The Turning, Macbeth) on December 21, 2016. In the meantime, check out these awesome cosplayers from New York Comic Con 2015:
