UPDATE (5/5 at 10:45AM): According to various fan accounts, Demi Lovato has also reportedly posted even more about the controversy on her Snapchat account. "I am NOT a victim. I don't want your sympathy and I don't need anyone's empathy," she wrote. View her Snap story text below.

(Original Story: 5/5 at 9:50AM) Twitter has been buzzing about a supposed "beef" between Nicki Minaj and Demi Lovato that began at the 2016 Met Gala, but Demi is now coming forth to prove how senseless she thinks the whole thing is. During a series of tweets last night, the "Stone Cold" singer addressed the critics and "cyber bullies."

"Sometimes there's more shit going on than you see. Maybe you DON'T know every aspect of my life so maybe you shouldn't assume you know," Demi began. She also brought up her bipolar disorder as a cause for her late night rants.

The singer also called out the Internet trolls who live for controversy:

"Imagine the love of ur life/biggest crush finding out u spend time on the internet commenting negative shit about celebrities. Embarrassed? Imagine your grandparents finding out you spend your free time being an internet troll to celebrities you don't even know."

The made-up controversy between Nicki Minaj and Demi stems from the rapstress not tagging Demi in an Instagram photo they took together alongside designer Jeremy Scott on the Met Gala's red carpet. Demi then went on Snapchat to vent about the situation saying, "When you aren't mentioned in a post but didn't do shit to the person."
