WARNING: This story contains spoilers about the most recent episode of Game of Thrones

On Sunday night (May 1), Jon Snow rose from the dead on Game of Thrones, as the fan favorite was revived with a little luck and a lot of blood magic. Kit Harington, whose character was killed at the end of last season and who spent the time in between seasons assuring fans that his character was dead, has given his first interview since Jon started breathing again, and, like Justin Bieber, he just wants to tell fans that he’s Sorry.

“Sorry!” Harrington tells Entertainment Weekly, which features a Jon Snow cover this week. He continues:

“I’d like to say sorry for lying to everyone. I’m glad that people were upset that he died. I think my biggest fear was that people were not going to care. Or it would just be, ‘Fine, Jon Snow’s dead.’ But it seems like people had a, similar to the Red Wedding episode, kind of grief about it. Which means something I’m doing — or the show is doing — is right.”

It feels strange that Harington is apologizing for “lying to everyone,” since the alternative would have been, you know, spoiling the major plot twist that is a lynchpin of this whole season. Harington's charade was mildly effective… although it would have been more so if the season 6 Game of Thrones posters didn’t feature Jon Snow as the main image. Maybe HBO’s marketing team should be the ones apologizing!

Another bummer, at least for Emilia Clarke, who wants the show to “free the penis”: Jon Snow’s resurrection scene featured a loincloth!
