Tom Hanks and Ron Howard are going for the Robert Langdon hat trick, as his character from The Da Vinci Code is back for a third film, Inferno. The upcoming movie received its first trailer on Monday.
“Someone created a plague!” Hanks exclaims as the crafty symbologist Langdon once again tackles an age-old quest, this time piecing together the answer to a dangerous riddle. The adventure looks especially apocalyptic this time, as Langdon races against time to stop humanity from destroying itself.
Felicity Jones, an Oscar nom for The Theory of Everything, joins Langdon this time, and Ben Foster is on board as a villain. Worth noting: Inferno is actually the fourth book in Dan Brown’s Langdon series, following Angels & Demons, The Da Vinci Code and The Lost Symbol; the latter has been skipped over in the silver screen treatment.
Inferno hits theaters on Oct. 28. For more, click here to uncover our picks for the must-see movies of 2016.
