The longwinded, grinding fallout of Kesha's legal battle with Dr. Luke is still ongoing, but the singer has recently made something of a return to the music world with an impromptu Coachella performance and a new collaboration with Zedd

And on Sunday, Kesha divulged the full scale of her thoughts, letting fans know that she's choosing happiness and a path forward amid the harsh trial and nasty spotlight.

In an Instagram post that shows Kesha wearing a bathing suit, flipping the bird against a setting sun, the singer explains that "I have decided to take my life back."

In full, the photo's caption reads:

"I have been battling depression and an eating disorder for a while now. my career is in a strange place and it feels like I'm fighting an uphill fight some days. but I have decided to take my life back. my freedom. my happiness. my voice. my worth. I will not just fucking be quiet and hide. today I will say fuck it and live. So FUUUUUUUUCK it. today I'm making that choice. AND IM HAPPY AS A DAMN CLAM. and also a big ol fuck u if u wanna hate on my body. just remember that makes u look like a dickhead."

It was announced earlier this month that Kesha would feature as part of Diplo's Mad Decent Block Party tour this summer, which contains 15 dates nationally. Her most imminent performance is at the Billboard Music Awards, and the singer has said she intends to use the occasion to advance a particular "statement."
