Marvel Debuts New 'Black Panther' Video Series With Help From Run the Jewels: Watch

Marvel writer and National Book Award winner Ta-Nehisi Coates made waves last year when they rekindled The Black Panther. A lurid comic book originally published in 1966, Black Panther centers on T’Challa, the leader of a futuristic African country called Wakanda, who governs by day and fights crime by night as his alter-ego, the Black Panther.

To build off the success of the 2015 edition—it debuted as the best selling comic for the month of April—Marvel and Coates are at it again, but this time with a monthly video series that merges the comic's vivid imagery with Coates' narration. For the inaugural video, Marvel infused the comic with music from Run the Jewels, because it sounds and looks totally badass. Watch it above.
