While she's been killing it on the ANTI World TourRihanna has rarely made an awards show appearance this era. So her performance at this year's 2016 Billboard Music Awards was definitely anticipated, and the singer decided to lay her Bad Gal persona down for a moment and channel her inner vintage bluesy chanteuse.

Singing "Love on the Brain," one of the highlights off ANTI, the green fur-rocking Rihanna poured every bit of emotion the soulful ballad embodies onto the BBMAs stage. For those critics who didn't think the artist could pull off a strong vocal, this performance did everything to shut that idea down.

Along with promoting her ANTI album (it's now at the No. 7 spot on the Billboard 200), Rihanna recently collaborated with Drake on Views' "Too Good" and reunited with Calvin Harris for the bouncy dance track, "This Is What You Came For."
