Roald Dahl's The BFG offered kids a vivid depiction of a world overrun with foraging giants that existed parallel to human society, and boy, did every child want it to be real.
Steven Spielberg is turning that world into a reality for moviegoers however, and by the looks of The BFG's second trailer—which you can watch above—everyone is going to want to be eight years old and friends with a sensitive giant.
Roald Dahl's books have lent themselves to a series of posthumous film adaptions, including Tim Burton's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Wes Anderson's stop motion take on The Fantastic Mr. Fox. As we previously noted, Dahl's book Matilda recently picked up accolades as a Broadway production after it became a classic in movie theaters during the '90s.
The BFG is a Disney and Steven Spielberg endeavor, and should no doubt prompt plenty of kids to wet themselves with fear of being eaten when it releases July 1.
