Less than two weeks after the series finale of The Good Wife, CBS has announced a spin-off depicting the next chapter of Diane Lockhart's career and life.

As per USA Today, Christine Baranski and Cush Gumbo will reprise their respective roles as Lockhart and Lucca Quinn in the currently untitled series, which is set to be offered exclusively via CBS' All-Access streaming app for $6 a month. The new show will carry on the legal tradition and depict Lockhart's new task of heading up her own firm with the help of Quinn.

The Good Wife creators Robert and Michelle King are also spearheading the new drama: Entertainment Weekly notes that the couple has agreed to pen the first episode's script and help serve as executive producers.

“The quality of The Good Wife has always rivaled anything on television and we’re excited to tell more stories with some of the brilliant characters Robert and Michelle King created,” CBS Television Studios President David Stapf said in a statement. During its heyday, the show racked up five Emmy Awards, but failed to achieve the ratings inherent to most successful primetime dramas.

The spin-off is set to take place one year after the final episode of The Good Wife ended.
