Sorry to break this to all of you '90s pop lovers, but those rumors of Backstreet Boys and Spice Girls coming together for a joint tour has now been shut down. During the boy band's interview with 103.5 KTU's Cubby & Carolina, A.J. McLean revealed the two groups did discuss the idea but the plan "kind of fizzled out."

The band member added,

“From what I’ve heard, The Spice Girls want to do their own tour. It’s their 20th anniversary, we’re back in the studio making a new album. So everyone is doing their own thing. God willing, down the road, maybe it could happen. But as of right now it's not happening. They're doing their thing, we're focusing on our thing. But I think it would be something awesome if it did happen."

So while the joint tour may not be on the horizon, there is still hope for a reunion tour for the Spice Girls. Back in March, Mel B hinted:

"We are in talks with each other closely. But until something’s official, there’s no point saying anything until there are tour dates to announce. I do feel like it's getting closer and closer. I've been trying to get those bitches together for years!"

But don't expect Posh Spice, a.k.a. Victoria Beckham, to come along for the ride (she reportedly wants to focus on motherhood and her fashion business).

In the meantime, look out for Backstreet Boys' follow-up to 2013’s In A World Like This soon and take this quiz to see if you can tell the difference between BSB and New Kids on the Block's lyrics!
