Brand New Helped Thrice Reunite: Emo Lives!
In March of this year, Thrice shared a comeback single, "Blood on the Sand." It was their first new track since embarking on an indefinite hiatus in 2012. Fast-forward two months later and they released To Be Everywhere Is To Be Nowhere, a brand-spanking-new full-length. Speaking of Brand New things, apparently the Long Island emo band were one of the reasons Thrice got back together in the first place. In a new interview with Live Nation, guitarist Teppei Teranishi explains:
“We're good friends with [Brand New], so we started talking to them. At that point they were on a two-week West Coast run, and we were asking about what it was like to tour like that. That was the catalyst of starting to think about coming back, and doing it at a capacity that makes sense for everybody.”
