Larry David took his time between the last few seasons of Curb Your Enthusiasm, but it's suddenly been almost five years since Season 8 wrapped. Today, HBO has announced that the drought's about to end.

“In the immortal words of Julius Caesar, ‘I left, I did nothing, I returned,’” David says in the statement. HBO president of programming Casey Bloys was slightly more eloquent, although not by much: “We’re thrilled that Larry has decided to do a new season of Curb and can’t wait to see what he has planned."

And that's it! The last two seasons had high concepts that were ready-made for lead-up hype (Seinfeld reunion; New York City setting), so maybe we'll get something for this one soon.

Just last week, J.B. Smoove said David had initiated a rare Curb Your Enthusiasm discussion on a phone call. "He said, 'If I do come back, would you be available?'" Smoove recounted. "I said, 'You know something Larry, I'll be available. Just call me, give me early notice, and I'll be there.'"
