The much-anticipated "Injustice 2" video game is happening, folks. After some speculation last night, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment announced this morning that the game will be arriving in 2017, along with gifting us the trailer.

As for when the game will be released next year, we have no clue. But we do know that Superman will be just as dark as he takes on Batman and other DC characters.

The story of the first game, which was released in April 2013, had Superman appointing himself High Councillor of his own government after the Joker tricked Superman into killing Lois Lane and their unborn child. Dark, right? Soon enough, Batman led a resistance against him, along with his buddies Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Green Arrow and Green Lantern.

Injustice 2 will be available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2017.
