Mark Salling has been removed from the cast of Gods and Secrets following his federal indictment on charges of child pornography.
The Wrap reports that Salling is being replaced by director Adi Shankar, who noted that he's "personally paying for the reshoots," of the superhero film.
Shankar, who issued a statement on Tuesday (May 31), said of Salling: “He has been cut from the mini-series, I will personally be paying for the reshoots, and I hope that Mark finds inner peace.” Originally, Shankar had paused at the prospect of editing Salling out of the film, noting the necessity of "all the facts" regarding the situation.
Salling is a former star of the hit Fox series Glee, and was arrested on charges of child pornography last year. Los Angeles police found nearly 1,000 pornographic images of minors stored on various computer equipment in Salling's home. He is expected to surrender to federal authorities and to be arraigned on June 3.
