NYC Mayor Puts Kanye West on Blast for Impromptu Block Party

Following an outlandish turnout for a hastily planned Webster Hall performance that never happened, New York City mayor Bill de Blasio tweeted advice to Kanye West on how to throw a “great block party.” 

After the last day of Governors Ball was canceled, West and the G.O.O.D. Music crew decided to takeover the Hot 97 Summer Jam and to throw a late-night surprise concert at Webster Hall. West’s perpetual archivist Kim Kardashian Snapchatted a short clip of Kanye attempting to contact the mayor’s office about the impromptu block party. “I need you to call the mayor and shut down a block of about four streets… so they can have a party outside,” West can be heard saying in the video below. “I know it’s sold out already.”
