Ricky Martin visited Lebanon as a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF.

The Puerto Rican pop star met with the children of families that migrated due to the conflict in Syria. As UNICEF Ambassador, Martin is trying to raise awareness around the condition of children whose lives have been altered by displacement and sectarian violence. “More than a million Syrians have sought refuge in Lebanon since the start of the crisis and more than half of them are children. They shouldn't be forgotten,” Martin wrote in a statement on Facebook.

“The world must make greater efforts to ensure that these children are protected from exploitation and receive access to safe environments where they can learn and achieve their independence,” Martin continued in a press statement (via Billboard).

Martin added that the music in the above video is “performed by the kids living in the camps.”
