Ryan Gosling has gloriously lent himself to "hey girl" memes in the past, all of which make a joke out of his dreamy persona and dashing looks.

But the memes aren't an illusion: As we learn in a new Gosling interview with the UK's Evening Standard, the dude maintains a deeply feminine side, and when it comes to the battle of the sexes, he thinks "women are better than men," hands down.

Gosling is a 35-year-old dad to two young girls, and the trials and tribulations of fatherhood have taught him that males are a less sophisticated lot. As he told The Standard:

"I think women are better than men...they are stronger. More evolved. You can tell especially when you have daughters [Esmeralda, 18 months and Amada] and you see their early stages, they are just leaps and bounds beyond boys immediately."

The Gos also said he's hoping a female becomes president one day: "I think [the presidency] needs a woman’s touch," he said, stopping short of an outright endorsement of Hillary Clinton. Gosling's new movie, The Nice Guys, co-stars expert manly man Russell Crowe. It released May 20 and is currently playing nationwide.
