It’s been a long, hard road to the release of the new Legend of Zelda game, but it’s finally coming next year, and today we’ve been given a tantalizing new preview of what’s to come. An extended trailer of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was unveiled at E3 in Los Angeles, prior to its 2017 launch on Wii U and the mysterious NX console from Nintendo.

The official description of the trailer reads:

“Step into a world of discovery, exploration and adventure in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, a boundary-breaking new game in the acclaimed series. Travel across fields, through forests and to mountain peaks as you discover what has become of the ruined kingdom of Hyrule in this stunning open-air adventure.”

According to The Verge, Reggie Fils-Aime, Nintendo of America president and COO, called Breath of the Wild "an entirely new format for a Zelda game." “Breath of the Wild” is also a new name for the long-in-the-works game.
