AC/DC’s Longtime Bassist Cliff Williams Retiring
In a recent interview with Florida publication Gulfshore Life, AC/DC’s bassist Cliff Williams shared that he will be leaving the band after the current tour.
Williams joined AC/DC in 1977 after bassist Mark Evans was fired. “It’s been what I’ve known for the past 40 years, but after this tour I’m backing off of touring and recording,” Williams told Gulfshore Life. Addressing the band’s lineup changes, he added, “Losing Malcolm, the thing with Phil, and now with Brian, it’s a changed animal. I feel in my gut it’s the right thing.”
