The Canadian rock band Arkells just dropped their latest music video and it stars Drake’s dad, Dennis Graham.

Appropriately titled “Drake’s Dad,” off the forthcoming record Morning Report, the song is based on the real-life experience of meeting with Graham. The line in the song about meeting Drake’s dad goes: “And there we met Drake’s dad / Told him we came from Hamilton / He said he knew of a Canadian girl / Who had a thing for Americans.” For the video, the band is seen partying with Graham around various parts of Memphis.

In a press release, The Arkells frontman Max Kerman described the moment that prompted the song. He wrote:

“Last summer I was on a road trip with my best friends through the American south, and in the magic of the night, we happened to meet Drake’s dad - Dennis Graham - in a Memphis bar...He couldn’t have been more gracious, especially given that there were 16 of us, drunk on friendship and cheap American beer. This chance encounter inspired this song.”

The Arkells album Morning Report is out August 5 on Last Gang Records. Watch the video above (via Consequence of Sound).
