This year’s Global Citizen Festival will feature an array of musical superstars joined together by 2016 curator Chris Martin of Coldplay. Rihanna, Metallica, Kendrick Lamar, Major Lazer and Selena Gomez are among the major acts heading to Central Park in Manhattan on Sept. 24.
Other guests include Eddie Vedder (who played Global Citizen with Pearl Jam last year), Ellie Goulding, Usher, Yusuf and Yandel. Hugh Jackman is slated to host the event with his wife Deborra-Lee, while Neil Patrick Harris, Seth Meyers, Chelsea Handler and more will appear.
Festival CEO Hugh Evans says in a statement:
“Over the last five years, Global Citizens around the world have taken more than 6 million actions in the fight against extreme poverty—actions that are set to affect the lives of over 650 million of the world's most marginalized people. This year's Festival—and this incredible lineup—is an annual touch point to hold our world leaders to account on their commitments to solve the world's biggest problems.”
