Aerosmith icon Joe Perry has been hospitalized but is in stable condition after abruptly staggering offstage at a concert on Sunday night.
Perry was performing with his supergroup the Hollywood Vampires, which also includes Alice Cooper and Johnny Depp, at Ford Amphitheater in Coney Island, and reportedly looked ill during the performance and had to be carried offstage. A representative for the guitarist tells the NY Times that Perry is “stable and resting” at a local hospital, and that “[h]is brother Vampires and fans wish him a speedy recovery.”
Cooper added on social media that the 65-year-old Perry was “with family & is under the best care.”
Perry has served as Aerosmith’s lead guitarist since the group was founded in 1970. The Hollywood Vampires formed last year, and performed at the Grammy Awards in February.
