During their Saturday night headlining performance at the Ride Festival in Telluride, Colorado, Pearl Jam brought out their 1993 Christmas single, “Angel.”
“Some of you may know that this next song doesn’t get played much and some of you may not,” Eddie Vedder told the festival crowd. As Stereogum points out, the Christmas song hasn’t been performed live in 22 years and was only played a handful of times. Vedder explains that the song “was written by the guy who was our drummer, Dave Abbruzzese. We wish him well.” Watch fan-footage of the performance above.
Pearl Jam are currently on tour until August, when they end with a pair of concerts at Chicago’s Wrigley Field. Along their tour, Pearl Jam performed a very intimate show in Nashville. Jack White’s label Third Man Records will be issuing a live recording of the concert on vinyl as part of their Vault Package #29, alongside a photo book of the event and a solo acoustic song by Vedder.
