During VH1's Hip Hop Honors awards on Monday night, Rich Homie Quan joined Lil' Kim for a performance of the Jr. Mafia song "Get Money." Quan was slated to stand in for Notorious B.I.G. on the track—and did, but not without forgetting nearly all of the late MC's verses.

It was pretty painful to watch, but the Atlanta rapper has apologized for the matter, noting in an Instagram post that the gaffe was unintentional.

Lil' Kim accepted Rich's apology in an Instagram post of her own: “People make mistakes and things happen sometimes that we can't fix or undo...If you guys only knew the technical difficulties that went on behind the scenes." The rest of VH1's Hip Hop Honors—which recognized the achievements of female rap luminaries Missy Elliott, Salt-N-PepaQueen Latifah and Lil' Kim—went off without a hitch.
