Drake first introduced Rihanna to Megan Flores, a young fan who was battling cancer, after her Miami concert earlier this year courtesy of Make-A-Wish Foundation. But after putting up a great fight, Megan sadly passed away over the weekend. Both artists honored her on social media, with Rih penning this heartfelt note:
“I had the pleasure of meeting an angel on earth! She’s inspired me so much with her strength and her perspective on life! So fearless and kind! It’s heavy news that I can’t slide in your DMs anymore like I used to!! There was always a smile waiting for me there! You brightened any day! Rest up baby girl! We will miss you!!”
Drake also paid tribute to Megan on Instagram: “Rest in peace my angel. I know heaven is celebrating today. Thank you for the moments and emotions we share I am blessed to have known you in this lifetime.”
Rih continued her tribute to Megan during the ANTI tour stop in Hamburg, by singing "Diamonds" in her honor. Drake previously dedicated his Views album to the fan, writing in the credits above the LP's opening track: "This body of work is dedicated to Megan Flores. I pray for your well-being every day."
