Folk duo Tall Heights has quietly been putting out breathtaking track after breathtaking track leading up to the release of its major label debut, Neptune, next month. Today we’ve got “Iron in the Fire,” launching on Fuse and showcasing the lush sound the group has been honing since Paul Wright and Tim Harrington were busking on the streets of Boston.

The bass line on the track makes it a standout, although the vocal harmonies featured throughout Neptune also continues to be a defining quality here. Stereogum compared Tall Heights to Sufjan Stevens and Fleet Foxes in their premiere of lead single “River Wider,” and they’re dead-on with regards to the full LP.

That full LP, by the way, arrives Aug. 19 on Sony Music Masterworks, and before that, Tall Heights will be supporting literal folk hero José González at his Aug. 1 show in Chicago around a bunch of headlining dates. Check out their full list of upcoming dates below:
