Ed Sheeran has been spending some time out of the spotlight lately. After his second album cycle, he admitted that he was going to take some time off, but he wouldn't miss Taylor Swift's famed Fourth of July party for the world.

The two friends reunited at Swift's Rhode Island house, and not only was the "New Romantics" singer ready to celebrate American independence, she was prepared—with banners and everything—to celebrate love.

Swift posted an Instagram of her friends cozying up to each other, with Swift as their fairy godmother of romance.

In the photo, you can see Taylor's childhood friend Abigail Anderson, who recently got engaged. Sheeran looks cute with his girlfriend Cherry Seaborn. Anderson shared her own pics of the shindig, which show her singing with her pal, with Kesha and the Haim sisters in the background.

Swift has been sharing plenty of pics from her Fourth of July party, including some of the same jam sesh:

And look! Sheeran's on guitar! "Just like old times," she captioned the photo above. Ugh, the memories... (Never forget Ed and Taylor duet "Everything Has Changed" from 2012.)

Then there are the bouncy waterslide pics:

Too much fun.

Anyway, watch this Fuse video below, where Sheeran explains why he's taking some time off from music.
