Doctors are telling Aretha Franklin to give her body some respect and to rest a little bit. The 74-year-old soul singer has canceled five shows to do just that.

"Due to doctors' orders I will have to cancel a few concerts for the next month or so," Franklin said in a statement.

Those five shows include two shows at Radio City Music Hall — one was a Tony Bennett birthday show and another was a solo gig. Shows in Vienna, Virginia, Detroit and St. Louis have been taken off her schedule as well.

Her next scheduled show will be on Nov. 11 in Welch, Minnesota.

In 2015, Franklin canceled a Las Vegas show because of exhaustion.
