The rapper's grandmother instilled in him the understanding of God's power after noticing something was off (Chance was doing acid during that time). He reveals to GQ magazine that he now lets fate take control of his life:

“Things that you push so hard to get, and they don't work out—I don't dwell on them as much, because she said that. You know? Because it makes me feel like, you know…everything is mapped out.”

Chance is noted for maintaining his artistic independence and refusing to sign with any record label. "It's like a fucking dick-swinging contest, where they all just brag about who they recently got," he says about the industry. "And so I'm definitely not trying to be a part of their dick-swinging contest. I'm staying far away from all dick-swinging.”

You can't get more honest than that.

The White House is filled with Chance's biggest fans

It's hard to find someone who's not a fan of the rapper, so it's no surprise even the president is turning up to his music at the crib. “Oh yeah. They're bumping Coloring Book hard up there. If you go up there, you'll probably hear Coloring Book. This is not a joke at all," Chance exclaims.
