Dancing with the Stars Season 23 is almost underway, and the official cast announcement reveals that U.S. Olympic gold-medal swimmer Ryan Lochte is, as previously reported, a contestant.

The 12-time medalist was charged with filing a false robbery report in Rio de Janeiro after he alleged that he and his teammates were robbed at gunpoint, a story that quickly came into question. Four sponsors, including Speedo USA and Ralph Lauren, dropped Lochte after the scandal. Dancing with the Stars did not.

"I think it's time to hang up my Speedos and put on my dancing shoes," Lochte told Good Morning America on Tuesday. "I'm going to treat this kind of like going into the Olympics." Hopefully emphasis on the kind of; definitely leave a few Olympic traditions in the past, champ.

DWTS' new season will also feature Vanilla Ice and Amber Rose. The "Ice Ice Baby" rapper, born Robert Matthew Van Winkle, competed on Dancing on Ice in 2011, coming in seventh out of 12 duos.
