A little less than two years after Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them hits theaters this fall, Muggles, Squibs and wizards alike will get the sequel, Variety reports. Make haste and get Nov. 16, 2018 on your calendar. J.K. Rowling—who wrote the Nov. 16 series debut, her first script—will return as screenwriter. Director David Yates, who did the final four Harry Potter movies as well as Fantastic Beasts, will also be back for No. 2.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2, Warner Bros. says in a statement, “moves deeper into an increasingly dark time for the wizarding world, where Newt and our other heroes have to decide on their allegiances." The adventures of Newt Scamander, played by 34-year-old Oscar-winning Brit Eddie Redmayne, are expected to concluded, trilogy-style, in November 2020.
