In June, Dame Helen Mirren surprised us by signing on for Fast 8. Now the 71-year-old Oscar-winning star of The Queen (nominated another three times, btw) has been revealed in character alongside future guaranteed recipient of British knighthood Vin Diesel. Check it out above. They look very serious and conspiratorial, and Helen Mirren's jewelry is fabulous.

When she joined the Fast 8 cast, Mirren told Elle, “I've always rather loved driving. I said, 'I'll be in it, but only if I'm allowed to drive if I do drive in it.' But we'll see. We'll see how it transpires.” It would've been rad for our first look to have her character behind the wheel of a [insert name of dope car that dope car aficionados know], but we're fine to build up to that.

The sequel to 2015's Fast 7 will feature returning cast members Vin Diesel, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Tyrese Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, Jason Statham, Kurt Russell, Nathalie Emmanuel and Elsa Pataky. Scott Eastwood and Charlize Theron are joining the family, the latter as the series' first female villain.
