Update: Frank Ocean's Boys Don't Cry is coming out on Friday, Aug. 5!

Original story: For the second straight year, Frank Ocean fans hoping to see a new album materialize in July have watched the month come and go…but late last night, the R&B star’s website launched a mysterious livestream that proves that Frank Ocean is up to something.

Over at boysdontcry.co, there is a video stream that is hosted by Apple Music; it shows a pair of empty work benches with little noise coming through. What does it all mean? It’s still unclear, but it’s an encouraging sign, given that it’s the first update to Ocean’s site since he posted the “date due” slip hinting that the album was coming in July.

It’s been four years since Ocean released Channel Orange, his widely acclaimed Def Jam debut which was nominated for an Album of the Year GRAMMY. Follow-up Boys Don’t Cry was originally announced to have a July 2015 release date, but that month, like all past Julys, came and went.

Ocean popped up on Kanye West’s The Life Of Pablo standout “Wolves” earlier this year, but did not appear in the just-released music video.
