Jeremy Renner Told 'Avengers' Filmmakers They Could Kill Off Hawkeye

Early on in his character’s development, Jeremy Renner revealed that he was “frustrated” with filming The Avengers. 

At a Q&A this weekend at London Film & Comic Con, Renner let his unhappy feelings be known about Hawkeye’s initial involvement in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. “In the first Avengers...I was just getting to know who Hawkeye was, and then zap, I go round like a zombie, I’m like Loki’s minion,” Renner said, as reported by RadioTimes. He describes how, at the time, he was frustrated “because I was so excited to figure out who Hawkeye was."
